Heavy Ordnance Specialist

Code Name:

Heavy Duty

Version Four

Carded Figure (w/Cobra C.L.A.W.S.)

Heavy Duty's Filecard (w/Cobra C.L.A.W.S.)

Figure Description:

Heavy Duty was released as part of the eighteenth series (2002), carded in a two-pack with Cobra C.L.A.W.S. and again carded in a two-pack with Skull Buster.

Versions of Heavy Duty:

Note that while some Heavy Dutys have a file name of Lamont Morris and some have a file name of Hershel Dalton, all seem to have a basis on the same character.

Accessories:

Heavy Duty came with a black machine gun, a black machine gun stand, a black handgun, and a green backpack.

The Heavy Duty/Cobra C.L.A.W.S. packaging also included a color background.

The Heavy Duty/Skull Buster packaging also included a color background.

Variations:

A variation of the Heavy Duty (version 4) figure does not have the G.I. Joe team logo on the leg. The version with the logo is much easier to find. This variation is only present in the two-pack with Cobra C.L.A.W.S..

The very earliest carded Heavy Duty/Cobra C.L.A.W.S. figures had slight packaging differences. Among them - the text on the back of the card described Cobra as a "terrorist" organization, and the figures were posed to have the heads looking at each other.

Later carded figures had no mention of the word "terrorist", the figure heads looked out and not at each other, and the packaging included the 2002 figure catalog.

These later packagings also included a new colored background that no longer had the white "explosions" around the figure. The filecard for Heavy Duty was also changed by removing the text "The name Lamont Morris does not apply to any known, living person," and adding the text "Characters and events referenced herein are fictional and are not intended to depict actual characters and events." The text of the body of the filecard was also changed.

Body Construction:

Heavy Duty (version 4) has an entirely new body sculpt. The same mold was used to create Heavy Duty (v5) (2002) and Heavy Duty (v6) (2002).

Note the changes made from previous versions of 3 3/4" figures - including new waist construction.
