Beachhead n. A designated area on a hostile or potentially hostile shore that, when seized and held, ensures the continuous landing of troops and material, and provides maneuver space requisite for subsequent projected operations ashore. (DOD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms 12/17/2003)

Amphibious and Airborne Assault Trooper - While Beachhead is not directly stated to be a Ranger on this figure's filecard, all others have indicated that he is so. The airborne training could be an indication of why Beachhead v1 has a maroon beret.

Primary Military Specialty: Infantry. See the job description from the US Army recruiting web page.

Secondary Military Specialty: Small Arms Armorer. Currently, the closest position would be a Small Arms/Artillery Repairer.

The filecard lists several badges that Beach Head can wear:

Combat Infantryman's Badge (CIB) - This would be worn on the top of any other awards Beach Head might wear. It should also be noted that the CIB is given only to those who have served as infantry in an area of combat.

Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Badge

Good Conduct Medal with oak leaf clusters. However, note that the Good Conduct Medal does not use Oak Leaf Clusters to denote additional awards. Instead, additional awards are denoted with a ribbon clasp.

Beach Head has a large G.I.Joe team logo across his back.

Beach Head carries a grenade on his chest and two on the back of his belt.

Beach Head's primary weapon is a Demro 9mm XF-7 Wasp Carbine, which was also the primary weapon of the original figure. The magazines on his vest again provide him with added ammunition for this gun.

He also uses the same backpack (with associated equipment) as explained for the original.

While this is possibly an experimental issue G.I.Joe handgun, another possibility exists that it is actually a beretta M9 pistol (which is standard issue for U.S army) in a firing recoil position (when a pistol fires the slide racks back slightly as part of the action and this exposes the barrel).

Experimental rifle.

Beach Head carries a small utility knife on the back of his belt.

Beachhead carries 2 identical sidearms. These would most likely be stock M-1911's which are preferred by most special operations forces personnel over the standard issue M9.
