Red Star (version 2) was released with the fourth wave of comic packs in 2008 celebrating the 25th Anniversary of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. The pack also included Duke (v27), an original issue of G.I. Joe, issue 6, and a mail-in redemption offer for "Operation: Rescue Doc".
