Tripwire (version 5) was released with the fifth wave of comic packs in 2008. The pack also included Cobra Commander (v34), and an original issue of G.I. Joe, issue 9.

Tripwire was also released in the eighth wave of single packs in 2008.

Accessories:

The Comic Pack release of Tripwire came with a green belt, a green backpack, a black mine detector, three green mines, and a black display stand.

Variations:

Tripwire came in a Comic Pack packaged with COBRA Commander (v34) and in a Single Pack with the eighth release of Single Packs in 2008. The Single Packed version came with a "Desert Element" that was not otherwise available.

Body Construction:

Tripwire (version 5) was created using the body of Sgt. Flash (v2) (2008) with an original head and shins.
