Grand Slam's Filecard

Figure Description:

Grand Slam (v2) - also known as Grand Slam (v2) - was part of the second series (1983), packaged exclusively with the JUMP Jet Pack.

Prior to this point, the JUMP Jet Pack was sold without a figure. Grand Slam was discontinued in 1984.

At some point, Grand Slam (v2) may have been available mail-order through Hasbro Direct.

Versions of Grand Slam:

Accessories:

Grand Slam came with a dark gray helmet and a clear visor.

NOTE: An argument could be made that the JUMP Jet Pack, the jet pack laser rifle, and the black cord that attached the two are also accessories for Grand Slam (v2). However, since these pieces were available with the JUMP Jet Pack before and after Grand Slam (v2) was available, most collectors do not consider these three parts to be needed to "complete" Grand Slam (v2).

Variations:

No variations of Grand Slam are known to exist.

There are two versions of Grand Slam's filecard. The one that came from Hasbro Direct has a glossy red backing, while the one that came with the JUMP Jet-Pack does not.

Body Construction:

Grand Slam (v2) was made from the exact same mold as the swivel arm version of Grand Slam (v1.5) (1983).

The head of Grand Slam was re-used with Grunt and Zap (and in 1983 Grunt (v1.5), Zap (v1.5), and Grunt (v2)). Grand Slam's waist-piece was shared with twelve of the original fifteen figures. Grand Slam's arms, torso, and legs were shared with Flash (v1.5).

Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the the swivel ball head that was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).
