G.I.Joe Early Bird Kit (1997)

The G.I.Joe Early Bird Certificate Set was offered only at the 1997 G.I.Joe Convention in Philadephia by Majic Productions. On the back was a certificate that could either be mailed in or turned in at the convention. The certificate allowed you to receive four "Vendor Supplied Prototype" action figures by mail. Inside the kit was a diorama that was meant to be used to display the four figures.

This promotion was clearly inspired by the Star Wars Early Bird Kit from 1977 - when Kenner toys offered Star Wars figures before you could purchase them in stores.

The early bird kit was limited to 1,000 pieces.
