During the 80's, Hasbro Direct had several mail-in offers and exclusives. If an item was back-ordered or delayed, Hasbro sent out courtesy flag points. Pictured above is a postcard that came with 5 flag points.

From: Supply Headquarters
We goofed, and we're sorry. We received so many requisitions from Team
Members like you that we couldn't keep up. That's why you had to wait so
long for your order. Please accept our apologies, along with the FIVE FREE
FLAG POINTS on this card.
Reports from the filed indicate that you've handled this setback with
true G.I. Joe fortitude. Keep up the good work, and use the FIVE FREE FLAG
POINTS to realize big savings on the premiums offered to loyal G.I. Joe Team
Members.
