Gung Ho
|
Description:
Pictured above is a hand-painted prototype of Gung Ho that appeared
at several conventions and online. He was intended to be a part of the
Infiltrate Cobra Island three-pack. However, the set was canceled and
Gung Ho was never produced.
The set would have also included Duke and Snake Eyes and was pictured
with the raft and oar that came with Action
Marine (1994).

While several Gung Ho test shots have become available to collectors,
it is likely that these were produced in quantity by the workers at
the factory where G.I. Joe figures are produced, rather than actually
being created at Hasbro's request. It should be noted that these Gung
Ho figures use different upper arms (S.A.W. Viper's) and are likely
very close to the final parts of would have been released.
It should be noted that this test shot does not have a date stamp,
indicating that it predates the production of the mail-in Agent Faces.
