Pictured above is a preproduction version of Action Man. The figure was originally going to be Night Force Tracker but was changed before production for unknown reasons. This figure is different than the final figure due to the white pants and the brown hair that matched the preproduction Tracker samples.

Pictured above are two preproduction figures that show the transition of Tracker into Action Man. The produced Action Man figure is on the left while a Night Force Tracker figure is on the right.

While several Action Man test shots have become available to collectors, it is likely that these were produced in quantity by the workers at the factory where G.I. Joe figures are produced, rather than actually being created at Hasbro's request.
