Pictured above is a handpainted prototype of Royal
Guard (1987) as the figure appeared in the 1987 yearly insert catalog.
Several differences are apparent including the use of red on the upper
legs and the brown stripe on the shins. The overall appearance of the
figure is thinner and appears to have been hand crafted.
