Pictured above is a prototype of Charbroil (1988) as the figure appeared a 1988 Hasbro product catalog. Notable differences include the fact that gray paint has been used on the figure instead of silver, the lower part of the torso is completely brown, the forearm details have a black undercolor rather than being painted solid silver (or in this case gray), the helmet does not have the goggles painted red, and the backpack and flamethrower are missing the connecting hose and pegs.

Also note that the eyes of Charbroil are red while the production version had both a red and black variation.
