G.I. Joe and the Transformers was a four issue mini-series published during a four month period in 1987. It was
the only crossover with another series that GI Joe was a part of. This is because GI Joe and the Transformers were Hasbro's two best selling toy lines.
As one might guess, the Autobots teamed up the G.I. Joe and the evil Decepticons teamed up with Cobra.

The plot revolves around a power station that has the potential to destroy the Earth and help the Decepticons rule
their home planet of Cybertron. The story line keeps in sync with both the Transformers and G.I. Joe comic which
provides some sudden strange shifts in the story. Therefor it is part of the official continuity of both GI Joe & Transformers.
In November 1993, the Transformers started a new series titled Generation 2 which included the Joes in first couple of issues.
Trade Paperback
In 1993, a trade paperback version of the limited series reprinted all four issues and included a new cover by Andrew Wildman.
