 1985 Playsets, Dreadnoks, G.I.Joe Figures
A new approach to some G.I.Joe commercials started in 1985. The commercials begin with boys being shrunk down and running with the G.I.Joe toys. A handful of these commercials were used from 1985 through 1987.
This particular commercial introduces the Dreadnok action figures - Torch, Ripper, and Buzzer; new G.I.Joe figures of Snake Eyes (v2), Alpine, and Airtight; and the new playsets - the Cobra Bunker, the G.I.Joe Checkpoint Alpha, and the G.I.Joe Air Defense.
 G.I.Joe Mirage, Cobra Flight Pod, Figures
This commercial begins with original animation, then introduces the action figures - Flint, Bazooka, and Footloose; and the new vehicles - the Silver Mirage motorcycle and the Cobra Flight Pod.
Again, note the voices of Christopher Latta as Cobra Commander and Bill Ratner as Flint.
 Bridgelayer, AWE Striker
This commercial also begins with original animation, then introduces the new vehicles - the A.W.E.Striker and the Bridgelayer; and two new action figures - Barbecue and Shipwreck.
G.I.Joe Motorized Mauler Tank
This commercial includes original animation to open the commercial, then introduces the Mauler tank.
 Snow Cat (version 1)
Original animation opens the commercial, followed by an introduction of the G.I.Joe Snow Cat.
There are two versions of this commercial with slight differences. The first version here depicts only Frostbite riding the Snow Cat.
Snow Cat (version 2)
Original animation opens the commercial, followed by an introduction of the G.I.Joe Snow Cat.
There are two versions of this commercial with slight differences. The second version here emphasizes that the Snow Cat can hold ten G.I.Joe figures.
Marvel Comics G.I.Joe #35
This animated commercial features the Dreadnoks. The sneaking into an air force base and destroying a Skystriker is more indicative of the story behind G.I.Joe #30 than the story in G.I.Joe #35.

This classic commercial for G.I.Joe #37 introduces the evil twin brothers - Tomax and Xamot. Again note the use of cartoon voices, including Christopher Latta as Cobra Commander and Corey Burton as Tomax.

After starting with portions of the animation and music done for G.I.Joe #37 ad, this commercial introduces the action figures for Tomax and Xamot. It also introduces the vehicles of the Cobra Ferret and the G.I.Joe Armadillo mini-tank. While not named, it is also the first television appearance of the G.I.Joe figures for Dusty, Lady Jaye, and Quick Kick.
 Marvel Comics G.I.Joe #40
This animated commercial features the G.I.Joe Transportable Tactical Battle Platform and the Cobra Hydrofoil. This commercial includes a whopping five voices from the cartoon - Neil Ross as Shipwreck, Patrick Fraley as Barbecue, Zack Hoffman as Zartan, Corey Burton as Tomax, and Michael Bell as Xamot.

 U.S.S. Flagg Aircraft Carrier (version 1)
This is the first commercial released for the U.S.S. Flagg. It has the kids shrunk down and playing on the deck of the U.S.S. Flagg, and it concludes with the Hasbro tag.
 U.S.S. Flagg Aircraft Carrier (version 2)
This is the second commercial - probably released in 1986. Note that it has many more vehicles on the deck of the aircraft carrier and shows the sheer number of action figures that can fit on the deck.
This commerial ends with the "Yo Joe!" tag.
G.I.Joe Triple-Win Game
In 1985, specially marked G.I.Joe toys and action figures came with a game piece for the "Triple Win Game". The piece had a G.I.Joe sticker and two scratch off portions that could reveal prizes. The Triple Win game touted that every piece was a winner - because the sticker was considered a prize.
The ad features the voice of Michael Bell as Duke.
G.I.Joe Action Stars Cereal
This commercial for Purina/Ralston's G.I.Joe Action Stars cereal mixes live action with animation. Not being a Hasbro product, a few things are different about the commercial - most noticably the music.
The last character at the end of the commercial is Starduster - the only time that this character was ever seen animated.
 Sgt. Slaughter
The first real-life person to appear as a member of G.I.Joe was professional wrestler Sgt Slaughter. This commercial describes the process by which someone could get their "free" Sgt Slaughter.
This commercial probably didn't air on television until 1986.
