The 2000 G.I.Joe figures are out and available. A few frequently asked questions-
1. Are they Toys R Us exclusives?
A: No. Hasbro has said that they would be available everywhere. They've been spotted in Toys R Us stores, Family Toy Warehouse, Kay-Bee, Walmart, and eToys and kbkids.com online.
1a. Didn't Toyfare say that they'd be Toys R Us exclusives?
A: They made a mistake. It happens.
2. Is anyone else finding that their action figures are broken right out of the box?
A: Many of the early action figures were shipped with broken O-rings. If you have such a figure, either return it or fix it and/or call Hasbro and let them know 1-800-327-8264.
3. What's the case assortment break-down of the figure packs? Any of them short-packed?
A: There are twelve two-packs in each case and the cases break down like this-.
3 - Storm Shadow/Snake Eyes
3 - Cobra Commander/Chameleon
2 - General Tomahawk/Dial-Tone
2 - Undertow/Firefly
2 - Law & Order/Dusty
4. Why haven't the 2000 toys arrived yet where I live?
A: Patience! They're making their way around the country. Keep checking your local toy stores.
5. Can I buy them online?
A: Yes. eToys carries the 2000 G.I.Joe toys. In addition, kbkids.com has begun to carry the vehicle sets.
6. I looked at my receipt and it says that I bought a Dragonfly helicopter and a CUDA submarine! What's up with that?
A: Some retailers' systems still have them listed under their original names. Months ago, Hasbro planned to use the original names for these toys - the Dragonfly helicopter, CUDA/Barracuda submarine, the Baroness, and General Hawk. Due to expired copyrights, they changed the names to the Locust helicopter, the Man-O-War, Chameleon, and General Tomahawk. The new names aren't in the computer systems - which explains why you'll sometimes see them referred to by the original names.
7. Any variations so far?
A: Yes. Undertow seems to be available with two different chests - one with a peg, the other with a hole. Also, the Man-O-War submarine has been seen in black-silver-black versions, and silver-black-silver versions. And there's a new variant of Wild Bill's hat - early versions don't fit as well, newer ones fit fine. Look for more in the Action Figure Archive.
